I'm Riding For
Marisa
My Beautiful daughter Marisa A Sanchez was diagnosed with cancer at the age of 4. A New Year's baby in our County of Will. Marisa was exceptionally bright and had a great spirit to boot. Marisa exemplified a courage that I will always honor for the rest of my life whether I ride or not. Marisa once told us, " I am going to Stanford", and I believe that we would have honored her request. Marisa has a big brother, Tony. Tony at such a young age was asked to do a very unselfish request, not once, but twice. Tony donated his bone marrow twice, to give Marisa a fighting chance. Marisa lived another year and a half and we shared more memories to last a Lifetime. We moved on, broken hearted and took care of Tony, and have managed to move on but never forgetting the joy that she brought us, even at her worst moments. We were told once by a dear friend, " You guys are like a Wall", because of how we handled ourselves during this traumatic event. I replied, "We are merely the bricks on the wall, she was the mortar keeping it together". I will honor Marisa for as long as I can physically ride. I will ride in her Memory and for every child fighting this horrible disease. God has guided us and stood by us. We are still strong. Always Remembered, Never Forgotten. God Bless every Child and Family suffering thru this time. Thank you The Sanchez Family
My Story
This September I am taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer!
Why? Because right now, cancer is the biggest killer of children from disease in the United States. Over 15,700 children are diagnosed every year, and sadly, 38 children die of cancer every week.
Kids should be living life, not fighting for it.
So I am raising funds through my challenge to help these kids and support Children's Cancer Research Fund to allow them to continue their work to develop lifesaving treatments and find a cure for childhood cancer.
Please support me by making a donation to give these kids the brighter futures they deserve.
Your support will change little lives.
Thank you.
