  • Location: 1 North Beach Street, Ormond Beach FL 32174, United States

Event Details

This is a variation of the Ormond Loop. Almost 24 miles of shaded sections, Halifax river, and the beach. There is no speed requirement. I usually ride 14-17 mph, depending on the wind and elevation. Slower riders in the back, so they can draft the pack. That may be me lol. We will start on Beach street, which turns into Old Dixie Hwy. Turn right onto Walter Boardman Ln, Turn right onto High Bridge Rd, Turn right onto A1A, Turn right onto Granada Blvd, completion after the bridge. Hope to see you there.

I ride this route every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. So this will be a local ride that is available throughout June. Just in case I forget to update this ride weekly. I will always ride accordingly to whom I'm riding with. If you are a slower ride, then we just ride slower. If your a faster rider then I will push to keep pace. This is really a beautiful ride. Also side note, if the worst happens I am certified through American Heart Association as a CPR instructor. If you plan to attend please text me 386-265-7210. I won't save your number or send random text to you. I just don't want to wait for people if no one is showing up.

I am planning on meeting up with you. I'm disabled and ride a recumbent trike. I've been working up to this challenge, and just did 11 miles in the blazing heat! I can only average 7 to 11 mph, so I'll be taking up the rear, I'm sure! lol

Are there bike lanes on this route?

The first part of the ride does not have any specific riding lanes as you see in the above picture. But, for the most part this section is less traveled by cars. They tend to give proper spacing, for the most part. Once you get on the beach side they do have most areas for bikes. However, in some spots they don't. I ride this route three times a week. Some days are better than other as far as respect for riders go.

Edward Davison I am willing to pickup/drop off if needed. Or I can meet you on your way here, to ride. Just let me know what roads you will be taking, then we can ride to the spot. If you need/want a ride text message me 386-265-7210. Just remind me when you message me. My memory isn't what it once was :) I have a truck. I can get a few bikes in the bed safely, and I have top covers. I am really excited to have you join me. Talk to you soon. Eddie.

I want to be there. My only transport is my bike. It's going to be a haul from Port Orange, but I'm willing. That's just that many more miles to my goal. If someone is coming from down here, Port Orange, either by bike or could transport us, my Marin and I, I'd love the company riding there. I've wanted to do this route for a while. See you there.
