GCC USA moves to September 2020
Over the last few weeks, we have been closely monitoring information about COVID-19 from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), because the health and safety of our community are very important to us.
The situation is fast-evolving, and this past week (to March 23, 2020) has seen the escalation of the COVID-19 pandemic across the country as well as the heightening of measures to try to control it.
As a result, we’ve made the decision to postpone the 2020 Great Cycle Challenge to September, during Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.
It’s not a decision made lightly, but these are challenging times and we need to act responsibly and in the best interests of our riders.
Right now is the time to focus on our health and wellbeing, as individuals, communities and as a country.
It’s important that we all take all the necessary precautions to protect ourselves and those around us.
Some points to note:
- Your registration and fundraising efforts will be carried on to the September challenge.
- The Great Cycle Challenge USA site will remain open, so you can continue to log your training rides, update your page and thank your donors.
And just one last thing...
Please join our private GCC Friends Facebook group for event updates, community announcements, and exclusive offers.
We look forward to riding together in September as we continue to fight kids' cancer and save little lives.
Thank you for your support of our kids and their families.
Stay safe and take care,
Megan and the GCC Team
