Paige

Paige

Paige is 14 years old. Before brain cancer, she loved volleyball, hunting, & many activities. She was a normal, healthy teenager, until her DIPG diagnosis in early May 2017. Tragically, she has not been able to enjoy these things in many months. As the tumor grows, it puts pressure on the pons area of the brainstem, causing the body to lose vital functions. The pons controls heart rate, breathing, & all motor skills. While their body is "broken", their minds are relatively unaffected, & completely aware of their own decline. Doctors can offer no effective life-saving treatment. No child or young adult should have to go through this. No parent should hear the words, "Your child has terminal cancer, there is no chance for survival” & wonder whether “this will be the last time I hear my child’s voice”. Paige deserves the cure and it is unacceptable that we do not have it to give to her.

My Story

7 Apr 2018

I am excited to be involved with a wonderful cause, Great Cycle Challenge. Our mission is to help, in the fight against kids' cancer.

Cancer is the biggest killer of children from disease, in the United States. Over 15,700 children are diagnosed every year, tragically, 38 children die of cancer every week.

Please join my challenge, by helping these children & their families, with support to the Children's Cancer Research Fund. Your financial help will allow them to continue their work developing lifesaving treatments and finding a cure for childhood cancer.

Your donation will help make a difference, in these beautiful little lives.

    Wednesday, April 11th

Today will go down as the hardest, worst and saddest day of our lives. Today we held our beautiful child as you took her last breath at 12:15pm this afternoon. I believe that she was in no pain and passed peacefully. She passed with Brandin and I both there next to her.

For 11 months we watched her be tortured by DIPG physically and emotionally and today that all stopped. She is home with her Father healed and receiving her praises for the amazing life she lived here on earth. Her one last good deed on this earth is tissue donation for DIPG research. We are following her to the hospital now for the removal procedure. We decided months ago we would not stand by and watch another child and family suffer if we could help. Paige cared more about others than herself and we know this is her wishes too. We have things to do and plans to make over the next few days and we ask that you give us time to do that. Please pray for our strength as we will need it in the days, weeks, months and years to come. Thank you for your support and love.

    Always and forever,

    PB&J
