This September, I am taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer!
Believe it or not, my 35 year-old 12-speed Schwinn has been hanging in the garage for eighteen years. Its skinny tires are not well-suited for the gravel roads surrounding us. However, this is an important enough cause that I became motivated to get it down.
While somewhat dusty and a bit rusty, amazingly the chain still goes around and the inner tubes hold air. With a few shots of WD-40 and a slight brake adjustment, it's riding like new!
I know 50 miles is a conservative challenge goal; but, let's see if the old bike is up for it. I know I am! Why? Because right now, cancer is the biggest killer of children from disease in the United States. Kids should be living life, not fighting for it.
Please help me support Children's Cancer Research Fund. Your support will change little lives.
