Lil Mikey

Follow his story on Facebook: Lil Mikey Strong (@lilmikeystrong17) This is Mikey's story: Not only did he fight for his life but so did his mom, dad, big brother and little sister. March 2018:I noticed something wrong with Mikey. April 2018:After a month of fighting with doctors who kept saying everything was okay. We were finally admitted 2 long weeks & many test later & nothing. Finally they did a bone marrow & we got our results. May 5,2018:We were told Mikey had acute lymphoblastic leukemia. I remember them saying this was going to be an easy ride that kids with this cancer get into remission fast & that he’ll be done in 2 years. But that wasn’t the case for us. October 2019:Mikey relapsed. After trying 2 protocol treatment Mikey still had cancer. We tried 4 treatments. Realizing that nothing was working our hope was car T cell transplant. At this time Mikey's cancer was at 85% & doctors wanted him to be under 20% for the transplant. Down to 18% with a chemo, we headed for the transplant after 2 hard months. June 2020:Finally able to go home after recovering. October 2020:Cancer reappear in our lives. Back at Children’s Hospital, treatment drugs & after 2 failed chemo treatments we had the “talk”. Mikey's cancer was to advance & that their wasn’t anything else they could do for him. Everything seemed to fall apart around us but we didn’t give up. February 8,2021: We got the call from Cincinnati Children’s Hospital that had a trail open. February 9, 2021: In Cincinnati being admitted ready for whatever they had in store for us. After a month of a trail Mikey's still had cancer. That’s when our team at Cincinnati made a plan they worked so hard to find something for Mikey. Started again new drugs & new chemo. April 2021: Finally good news, trail worked & is in remission. Rushed his sister out to Cincinnati to begin prepping for a bone marrow transplant. September 2021: We are in REMISSION.

My Story

25 Jul 2020

I am taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer!

Why? Because right now, cancer is the biggest killer of children from disease in the United States. Over 15,700 children are diagnosed every year, and sadly, 38 children die of cancer every week.

Kids should be living life, not fighting for it.

So I am raising funds through my challenge to help these kids and support Children's Cancer Research Fund to allow them to continue their work to develop lifesaving treatments and find a cure for childhood cancer.

Please support me by making a donation to give these kids the brighter futures they deserve.

Your support will change little lives.

Thank you.
