My Story

23 Jun 2021

I am taking part in my second Great Cycle Challenge for childhood cancer.

With all that is going on in the world right now I am not going to hound you for money. With that said, if anyone is inclined to make a donation it will be greatly appreciated.

I am riding in memory of my sister, Melissa, who fought cancer from about age 16 forward; my oldest brother and his wife; and my third older brother all who have passed from cancer.

If I can help prevent cancer, or make treatment easier, on even one person my efforts will have been worth it.

My Challenge

  • A week off
    23 Sep 2021

You may have noticed I have been quiet for a week. If you know me, you know that is completely out of character for me…I am NEVER quiet!!

Since my last epic, longest ride ever, I have been down for the count. I was concerned I had covid, but finally went to see a doctor yesterday. Apparently, I am allergic to the VERY PROLIFIC Ragweed which is in full bloom around VT. It went into a sinus infection and bronchitis.

Two doses of antibiotics later, and yes, I will finish every one of them, I feel 95% better, as the doctor said I would!

With one week left in the month, and 90 more miles to ride to meet my 300 mile challenge, I started to panic…I’m not going to lie. One more day and I believe I will be “back in the saddle again!”
