My Story

This September, I am taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer!

Why? Because right now, cancer is the biggest killer of children from disease in the United States. Over 15,700 children are diagnosed every year, and sadly, 38 children die of cancer every week.

Kids should be living life, not fighting for it.

So I am raising funds through my challenge to help these kids and support Children's Cancer Research Fund to allow them to continue their work to develop lifesaving treatments and find a cure for childhood cancer.

Please support me by making a donation to give these kids the brighter futures they deserve.

Your support will change little lives.

Thank you.

Phillip

  • Imposed Rest Day- TOO SMOKY
    11 Sep 2020

I am glad I have already completed a bunch of miles and stayed ahead of my daily average miles target.

The air quality today is much worse than the last two days when I rode donning a filtering mask.

Back on the saddle in the morning.

  • Smoky Sunrise in Humboldt
    9 Sep 2020

We are socked in with the smoke from surrounding fires in all directions, but I rode this morning wearing my N95 mask to filter out any particulates. 41 miles and I feel fine.

  • FIRST WEEK UPDATE
    8 Sep 2020

well, I have had some really good rides and I am staying pretty healthy through the first 350 miles. I am actually taking it easy today with a mellow lunch ride planned for between 10-20 miles.

After riding 55 yesterday (STRAVA tell me it was my longest ride!) I am feeling fatigue for sure.

I feel good that I am ahead of my daily average of 34 to reach a 1,000 before the end of the month.

    Thanks for all your support!
