My Story

This June, I am taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer!

Why? Because right now, cancer is the biggest killer of children from disease in the United States. Over 15,700 children are diagnosed every year, and sadly, 38 children die of cancer every week.

Kids should be living life, not fighting for it.

So I am raising funds through my challenge to help these kids and support Children's Cancer Research Fund to allow them to continue their work to develop lifesaving treatments and find a cure for childhood cancer.

Please support me by making a donation to give these kids the brighter futures they deserve.

Your support will change little lives.

Thank you.

Shelli

  • This years Challenge
    30 May 2018

This is my 3rd year participating in the Great Cycle Challenge! I have chosen this charity event to focus my annual fundraising efforts as I have been touched by the stories of the kids and families and all that they have endured and endure. I better understand that lack of federal funding that goes into children's cancer research. As a nurse, I also understand that you can not treat children with the same protocols as you do adults.

With all that said, I want to thank all of you that have sponsored me this year! It has been a challenging year with regard to fundraising but am so thankful to those of you who have sponsored me. The challenge begins in 2 days and it is time to kick cancer's butt!

  • My Pledge!
    27 Mar 2018

Once again this year, I will pledge another 50 miles for every $500 raised over the initial $500 goal! So at $1000, I will ride 250 miles and at $1500- 300 miles, etc.

You may remember Callie as one of last years ambassadors. Unfortunately Callie is not doing well and has been placed in hospice care. This year I am riding for Callie (and on her team) to show her that she and her courage has touched my life and she will never be forgotten!

I can not imagine what these kids and families are going through. Cancer sucks!
