High Rock Bay back to Downtown Houghton - 56.7mi

Day 6️⃣

This has been my longest ride this month comming in at 56.7mi! Even I, after a ride like this, will surely feel it tomorrow. I found that one of my favorite things about biking so much, is the amount of food I’m able to eat! This includes chicken alfredo, chicken tenders, and many cool treats.

I was quite literally on “the last place on earth” 🌎

Thayer Lake to High Rock Bay - 48mi

Day 5️⃣

This was such a fun ride! From Layer Lake, to Eagle Harbor, followed by Copper Harbor and ending up at High Rock Bay to spend the night?!? It was an absolute blast and a ride I will keep in my back pocket. Unfortunately it didn’t save the route with the built in gps feature, probably due to the lack of service we have up here in the UP, but overall very enjoyable. ⛰️

I was even able to see 2 supporters at one of my stops, The Jam Pot! It still amazes me how much of Tech follows you no matter where you go!

Note to self: I do not have a mountain bike, those last 6 miles up to the campsite was a little bumpy 😭

Downtown Houghton to Thayer Lake - 25.9mi

Day 4️⃣

September 4th marks the first day of my bike packing trip! This ride started downtown Houghton and ended at Thayer Lake, a free camping location. The last time I was here I was a freshman! Biking all the way hete makes me realize just how little of the UP I have actually explored. There is still much to be done! 🕺

Doing my best to capitalize on the good weather we have, off to Copper Harbor tomorrow!

Long Walmart Loop - 13.4mi

Day 3️⃣

Another pro to biking is how sustainable it is! On this ride I was able to go on a little longer loop and end up at Walmart picking up my groceries for the week! Thank goodness the rest of the way was downhill 😭

Houghton Breakers - 21.9mi

Day 1️⃣

From downtown Houghton to Breakers, a ride full of sights! A great way to end my first day of Michigan Tech classes, I can’t wait to see what awaits!
