quick update. Rode 18 miles on a beautiful day that quickly became a worse day. No, no physical injury, thank goodness, but a personal one that has created a mess in my world.

Long story short, my friend's parked car was broken into and my purse was stolen. Credit cards were used and cash taken as well as my driver's license. Eyeglasses and my epi-pens. There is no way to describe this feeling. But we are okay, and this can be replaced. My purse was under my coat, so, I thought it would be okay. Lessons learned life lessons. Be careful where you park.

    Keep riding, and be well.

Riding with friend made the time go faster. And the miles.

I have upped my monetary goal $2000 since I reached my $1500. Who would have thought!! I can not believe the generous donation from wonderful people. It gives me faith again.

Wednesday is match day! I hope I hit that new goal I have set.

    I believe it is possible.

Yup. Tough wind pushing me backwards as I struggle up the hills I usually conquer. Beautiful day but that wind. Felt like I was going backwards but I knew I was going forward.

I am sure many times during cancer treatments the families feel like they are going backwards as well.

This is why I push on and on. We must find a cure for this!!!

    Ride on!!

Beautiful fall day. I had my hopes set on my personal best with the miles I would ride today, but I didn't succeed. Not a big deal. The ache in my neck reminded me that sometimes you don't feel well enough to keep going, but I pushed myself the 15 miles that I could. I have other chances to get on the bike and head out for that 24 miles personal best!

So thank you for encouraging me to keep going, because it is for the kids that are suffering from much more than a kink in their neck. And some of them don't get another chance. I will keep riding as long as you all keep donating! Thank you for all that you do!

What a lovely ride this is! Ups and downs and winding right and left. The scent of the trees and the decaying leaves. Stopped for a picnic at the park and seeing the Mississippi River at the lower levels right now. I have seen the river overflowing its banks, but never this low. A nice and cool day for the 18-mile ride. It was so rewarding to beat the rain, but we were prepared for it.

The most enjoyable part was the company. A great reward in life is friends, old and young. I think Azaelea would have enjoyed this beauty as well.

    Ride on!

We started at Merrifield by Train Bell Resort. What a beautiful day. And I have two new friends! We went all the way to the bridge over the road by Super One. What fun! We four riders are dedicated to fighting kids' cancer and riding for the cause. Different walks of life coming together for one sweet and beautiful Azaelea and for all the kids fighting for their lives. Thank you all for your wonderful donations!

Well. After a week of no chance of riding, I am so grateful for today and the beautiful weather to ride my bike again. Nisswa is a great place to catch the trail south to Merrifield, especially since they have repaired the cracks in the road. Wow! thank you to whoever did this!

This is the first ride since the passing of Azaelea. And of course, she was on my mind a lot. So much loss for the family and those she was close to. Just a child with a whole life ahead of her.

I thought of the celebration of her life that will be happening on her birthday and I will help with this. Many will help with this. Because Azaelea touched so many lives in her few years on earth. Now she will touch lives again but in a deeper way.

We need to stop this disease that is taking our youth away. We need to support the research that is constantly happening to find ways to stop cancer in its tracks.

But we need your help. We need each of you to donate to the cause and maybe, just maybe in my lifetime, they will find the magic pill or drip or inhaler that can take this all away.

Cancer can happen to anyone, and it has. We need to be mindful of all the ways we can help.

Riding a bike is one way, and raising money is another. I am happier doing this instead of volunteering at a celebration of life that has been taken too soon.

    Ride on.

    Be generous and be well.

We have a new and sweet angel now with the passing of sweet Azaelea yesterday.

    My heart is broken.

I know we all need to embrace this world and look deeper into our souls to pull out everything we have to join together and continue to fight this horrible disease!! We need more answers and continued awareness of the devastation cancer causes to our children and families.

I continue to ride with Azaelea in my mind and heart. I will always be Azaelea strong.

    Thank you for your support.

  • Fun ride with a new friend.
    19 Aug 2021

New friends are always a wonderful part of life. We rode from Pequot Lakes to Nisswa today, early enough to beat the heat with a headwind down to Nisswa and the wind pushing us back to home. Amazing how much easier it was to return to our starting point with that wind behind us! And I think of how much easier life is with friends that support us and keep us going!

Amazing how much life has to offer us. And I am offering my support to raise awareness and money to helps these kiddos fight cancer! It is tougher without that support or fighting into the wind. We just keep going. The battle is real, We must stay strong.
