  • For the beauty of the earth
    12 Sep 2026

Fall is in the air. The Paul Bunyan bike trail is starting to change colors and losing their summer vibrancy. We see it every year.

The monarchs are starting to gather to fly together to warmer climates, just like the hummingbirds and the swans. I miss seeing them when they are gone. But riding the trail with all the activity that we saw today with the migrations made me appreciate the time that I have to enjoy the beauty of the earth today. I wish everyone would take the time to be mindful of what they have. We all have so much but hardly notice it because we are too busy or too sick.

These kids are too sick to go out and ride a bike or to play in the park or to walk the trails we have here in beautiful Minnesota.

And these kids are why I ride. To give them hope for their future so they can enjoy everyday life.

Be an inspiration to us all and help fight kids' cancer.

The days have been very warm! We are in a climate change here, with fires and floods and many life-threatening issues. It makes you wonder what we can do to help. Our state of Minnesota is not exempt. But a bike ride like we had from Hackensack and back restored my mind to the beauty we have here.

And these kids fighting cancer are not able to enjoy this. They endure the life-threatening disease that keeps them tied to the hospital with what little joy that brings them. But HOPEFUL. Hopeful of a cure that will save them. You can't outrun this awful disease. You can't reach for higher ground, or ride the rollercoaster of treatment.

I realize this every day when I think of these kids fighting to live, not enjoying life. Please help them fight! Help them live and enjoy the things we do every day and take for granted.
