My treatment starts on Monday.

I have been doing better than I expected. My last two rides have been ten miles and included some hills. I don’t know how this leukemia treatment will affect me. I got a grant to cover my $1,000+ a month copay on one of my drugs. I would like to be able to reach my goal.

I still want to do this challenge

Signed up the first day of registration. I was feeling very weak at the time but I thought I could build my strength over the summer. I was wrong, my leukemia kept getting worse and I became weaker. My oncologist told me I needed to start treatment but first I had to have a lot of testing to make sure I could handle the treatment.

I had ct scans, pet scans, an MRI of my heart, a bone marrow biopsy. Now I’m waiting on the treatment center to tell me I’m ready to go.

This is a different kind of treatment than I had in 2021 so I don’t know what to expect. I set my goals low this year because I’m struggling. Today is September 1st and I just got back from my first ride. I managed to ride six miles. I’ll try to add mileage each day but I don’t know if I will be able. I’ll give it my best shot.
