Social Pace (12-14 mph) and No Drop. Distance is 15 miles, unless we pass second gate and get an additional 3 total miles.
Starting the ride from Benbrook ball fields and enter gate to Benbrook Lake.(MEET IN LARGE PARKING LOT BEHIND THE YMCA down and next to baseball fields).
RESTROOMS: We park next to them! White buildings with the blue roof.
This route is all road, hardly any traffic. Safe enough that some cyclists brought their preteen grandkids for their first group ride. They all loved it and felt very safe.
It does have some small hills but all my newbie cyclists have been able to do it, just not hauling butt 😉
It’s a social & casual pace, nobody gets left behind.
The majority of this ride is in Benbrook Lake Park on their park roads. Gate fee is $2 CASH
DO NOT FORGET TO BRING: sunblock, water bottles for your ride, helmet, and sunglasses (extreme dark ones are not the best idea for cycling). We can go to Riscky’s BBQ after!

Great Cycle Challenge / Benbrook Lake Riders:
It just droppedalmost 15° at my house between Lake worth and Azle! And I’ve got some light rain!
Will plan on riding up until 6 PM, unless it’s raining before then.
I will be at Benbrook Lake meeting place behind the YMCA by 5:30 PM, and will advise here. Those of you that still want to go eat at Riscky’s BBQ and if it’s raining and none of us ride, I’m still down for that as well!
