Challenge yourself to get on your bike or spin bike this September and ride to fight kids' cancer!

The concept is simple...

You set yourself a personal ride target to pedal in September and log your miles throughout the month to achieve your goal, tracking your progress online through your personal challenge page.

All ages. All fitness levels. Any location across the United States.

Your goal could be 25 miles, 250 miles or 1,000 miles. There's no minimum. It's your challenge, ride it your way.

All you need to do is log your miles throughout September via our FREE GCC app, Strava, MapMyRide, your own personal GPS device or manually through your challenge page.

Here's how it works:

1. Register and set your target

Register now for FREE and set yourself a target of miles to ride for the month of September as your personal cycling challenge to fight kids' cancer.

Your target could be to ride 25 miles, 250 miles or 1,000 miles, the main thing is to challenge yourself, have some fun and achieve your personal fitness goals.

2. Spread the word

Spread the word to your friends and family and tell everyone about your challenge to fight kids' cancer!

Ask them to support you by making a donation through your challenge page and fundraise to support childhood cancer research and save little lives.

Raise $500 and you'll receive a FREE 2024 Great Cycle Challenge jersey to wear throughout your challenge.

3. Start your challenge

Start your challenge on September 1 with thousands of riders across the country. You can ride to work during the week, go for longer rides on the weekend or take on your own personal cycling challenge for a week or a month - it's up to you!

Note: You don't have to ride for the entire month (i.e. you might be away on vacation for a week). Just set yourself a realistic goal and ride to achieve it within the month of September.

4. Record your rides

Record your rides and log your miles throughout the month for every ride you complete for the challenge. You can log your miles in the following ways:

The Great Cycle Challenge USA app

The Great Cycle Challenge USA app allows you to easily record your miles and will automatically add each ride straight onto your rider profile page (including the miles ridden, date and journey).

The app is available on iPhone and Android.

Connect to Strava or MapMyRide

If you already use Strava or MapMyFitness (which includes MapMyRide and MapMyRun) then you can simply connect your account to take part in the challenge.

  • Strava: To sync your Strava profile, visit the Ride Activity page of your Great Cycle Challenge USA dashboard and press the orange 'Strava Connect' button.
  • MapMyFitness/Ride/Run: MapMyFitness/Ride/Run integration is also available and can be located on the Ride Activity page of your dashboard.

Your own GPS device

Already use a GPS enabled device like a Garmin to track your rides? No problem. You can upload your ride file to your Great Cycle Challenge USA account and have your rides (and miles) added to your rider profile page.

If you don't want to upload a file, then you can easily add your miles manually.

Manually

If you are using a standard odometer or taking part in the Spin Bike Challenge, you can add your miles manually into your Great Cycle Challenge USA dashboard.

5. Track your progress

Once registered, you will receive your own challenge page from which you can track your progress throughout the challenge! Your page will display each of your rides, the total miles you've ridden and your progress toward your target.
