Researcher Teams
Great Cycle Challenge supports the nation’s top scientists at the best childhood cancer centers in the country. We're thrilled to invite these incredible researchers to join our community of riders.
Eligible researchers who start a Great Cycle Challenge team can apply to receive their team’s fundraising total, plus a match from CCRF, as a research grant. This is a great way to engage family, friends and colleagues in the cause and support specific research projects.
Who is eligible?
Researchers who are current or former recipients of funding from Children’s Cancer Research Fund (CCRF), or researchers on the CCRF Research Advisory Committee, are eligible for this program.
The researcher should be the team captain, and the team must have at least two riders who log miles and raise funds. Researchers may invite family, friends, neighbors, co-workers and anyone else in their community to join their team.
How much is the research grant?
Researcher-led teams must raise at least $2,500 to qualify for the research grant. In addition, CCRF will match each team’s fundraising up to $10,000 per team.
Great Cycle Challenge must receive all donations by October 31, 2024 to count toward the potential research grant. Approved grants will be awarded by December 31, 2024.
What research projects are eligible?
Research projects must fit within one (or more) of CCRF’s research granting priorities:
- Advancing therapies for hard-to-treat cancers
- Improving survivorship treatment and care
- Addressing health disparities and supporting minority young investigators
To receive a grant, the researcher must submit a project request and get approval from CCRF—more details below.
