I'm Riding For

Joseph

I'm riding for my hero, my son, Joseph. He was first diagnosed with leukemia in 2016, and relapsed in July 2021, and again in October 2022. He is the strongest kid and inspires me everyday to keep fighting. I love you, Joey! Screw leukemia!

My Story

This September, I am taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer!

Why? Because our 21 year old son, Joseph, is a three time cancer survivor and he is with us thanks to research.

Originally diagnosed in May of 2016 with High Risk Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia, he successfully completed 3.5 years of treatment, and was ready to start culinary school when we learned he relapsed in July 2021. Joe had CAR-T immunotherapy in October and remained cancer free for one year. In October of 2022, we were completely caught off guard when we learned the heartbreaking news that the leukemia was back for a third time. This time, he had a stem cell transplant from his older brother, Andrew. It took a long time for him to recover and he still suffers from side effects, but he’s thankfully healthy, working and taking classes in Music Production.

We are committed to finding a cure. I'm riding for him and for the other friends we've met that are also fighting cancer.

Kids should be living life, not fighting for it.

So I am raising funds through my challenge to help these kids and support Children's Cancer Research Fund to allow them to continue their work to develop lifesaving treatments and find a cure for childhood cancer.
