I'm Riding For

Our dear friend, Nat, was surrounded by her loving family as she passed away on Friday, April 19 after a 3-year-long battle with osteosarcoma. She was just 15 years old, but she fought with strength and bravery far beyond her years and brought joy and laughter to those around her. We feel so honored to have known this gorgeous girl. Nat has truly inspired a nation through her love and kindness towards others, and her strength and bravery throughout her cancer journey. She will be missed…🌹

My Story

This June, I am taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer!

Why? Because right now, cancer is the biggest killer of children from disease in the United States. Over 15,700 children are diagnosed every year, and sadly, 38 children die of cancer every week.

Kids should be living life, not fighting for it.

So I am raising funds through my challenge to help these kids and support Children's Cancer Research Fund to allow them to continue their work to develop lifesaving treatments and find a cure for childhood cancer.

Please support me by making a donation to give these kids the brighter futures they deserve.

Your support will change little lives.

Thank you.

    29 Jun 2019

Out of over 80,000 riders located across the United States, what are the chances of running into a fellow rider just as I finished my final ride for the 2019 challenge and she was headed out to start her last ride?!? Cool way to wrap up the month and remind us that while the mission can be daunting, there is strength in numbers, and no one has to take on the fight alone. #Kickcancersbutt #GCCUSA #TeamNat #GreatJobEveryone #DoGoodSeeGood

  • 2nd Day of Summer and I hit 222.2 miles
    22 Jun 2019

The rain let up a bit and allowed us to get out for a country ride today. Just wanted to say thank you to my supporters. Thanks to each of you, I was able to meet my 2nd ride goal this week (having bumped my mileage goal from 150 to 200). Your encouragement, financial backing and ongoing prayers have helped this cycling novice (having ridden under 200 miles throughout my lifetime prior to joining the Great Cycle Challenge last June), complete over 222 miles over a 22 day period! It has been humbling riding for the Children's Cancer Research Fund, as well as inspiring and life changing. Still have a week to go, so intend to keep on pedaling with the hopes of hitting the 300 mile mark by the end of June. The picture is of me on the trail behind our community cancer center.

  • Off to a Great Start!
    8 Jun 2019

So, have officially completed the first week of our challenge and we have surpassed last years goals and then some! Thinking I just might have to up my riding goal a wee bit.

Sooooooo, rumor has it that Wednesday is "Kick Cancer's Butt Day" and ALL donations (up to $900k) will be matched...might have to come up with some sort of ride challenge in which I will match all donations per mile (lets say, each $10 donated = 1 mile over my current goal up to 150 miles). Whatcha think? Think I could get any takers this Wednesday? #forthekids #June12 #matchingwithmiles #canwehear300 #PedalingforNat #GCCUSA

  • Never underestimate the generosity & kindness of others, nor our ability to make a difference!
    24 May 2019

Woot! Woot! Thanks to my amazing family and friends, we have surpassed my fundraising goal for the Children's Cancer Research Fund! I am not going to increase my goal, as I don't ever want people to feel pressured or obligated to donate (especially in a world where there are so many deserving causes worthy of support). However, that doesn't mean folks cannot continue to support the efforts to bring an end to childhood cancer!

I will continue to share stories and progress of the challenge throughout the month of June and my fundraising page will extend as well, as not to squelch any opportunities to raise the bar and further the fight. Feel free to continue sharing my fundraising page and help as we spread awareness.

I remain humbled (but not surprised) by your generosity. Love and Thanks!

  • A word from Nat to my supporters...
    16 May 2019

Last Friday, Nathalia's mom (Katy) posted this clip in our GCC Friends Group to share a special memory of Nat to say 'THANK YOU' for riding in the challenge.

    With it, she wrote...

"Here’s a little message from Nathalia. I hope this inspires all of you on your ride. This was from last summer."

It's only 6 seconds, but you'll be so glad you watched it (we promise).

(I'll try to post the link but until I figure that out, you can see the video on my fb page).

"THANK YOU for supporting kids like me. You GCC riders are AMAZING (yeah)!" - Nat

    And from her mom, Katy...

"To all the Team Nat riders, thank you so much for all the love and support that you have shown for my daughter, Nathalia.

Nat would be so overwhelmed with gratitude for each one of you amazing riders.

Thank you again for your unwavering support. ❤️"

    - Katy (Nat's mom)
