My Story

Hello everyone. I am riding for my 7TH YEAR to help kids that are fighting cancer at a time when they should be playing. I work as a Registered Nurse. I have the honor of helping people at their most desperate times. I implore you to help in the fight against children cancer. This is an amazing organization that really helps. For the past 6 years Wenatchee businesses, friends, family, and people in the Wenatchee community, have given selflessly and joined this fight. Please help; no donation is too small.

I Am Riding For

I am dedicating my ride this year to Tina and her partner Kathy. I work with Tina in the operating room at Central Washington Hospital, Mares Campus. She is one of the most up beat and positive people in my work family. In 2017 Tina was diagnosed with breast cancer that was found via a mammogram. In an ironic twist she had just found her birth father and reunited with him while he was getting treatment for throat cancer. Tina did not shy away from this diagnosis and started fighting with the help of her friend Rainy. Tina would be driven by Rainy to Wenatchee five days a week for five weeks for radiation treatment. While receiving treatment Tina worked five days a week because she had responsibilities to her family and she just does what needs to be done no matter what. The pain from her treatments were hard and painful but Tina just looked at the road ahead and continued to move forward with life and her treatments. During her journey she worked through the pain, got divorced because her husband was not supportive, and maintained relationships with her three children. Without the love and support of her friend Rainy Tina said it would have been impossible to accomplish what she had done. I hope that the parents, friends, and family of children who are battling this horrible disease have the strength and faith that my friend Tina exhibited to fight. Tina appreciates life more and lives every day like it is her last. I am honored to call her friend and try to emulate her compassion and caring.
