This September, I’m riding in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids’ cancer, a cause that could not be closer to my heart.

Cancer has touched my family in every possible way. My family is full of survivors, current warriors, and loved ones who have passed on. I have witnessed the courage it takes to fight this disease, the hope we hold on to, and the heartbreak cancer leaves behind.

But there is one thing I will never accept: we should not be losing babies and children to cancer. Ever.

Children should be riding bikes, playing with friends, dreaming big, and growing into the people they are meant to become. They should be living life, not fighting for it.

That is why every mile I ride this September will have a purpose. I am raising funds for Children’s Cancer Research Fund to help support the development of safer, more effective treatments and, ultimately, a cure for childhood cancer.
