Garhett Carter

This little guy. He is a 1 in 5 who didn't survive. Here is a little of his story as told by his mother: In March of 2012 he was diagnosed with stage 4 high risk neuroblastoma. 5 months into his treatment we found out that it was also resistant to treatment and he had relapsed. Our doctor at CHLA tried desperately to find something for our son. Garhett endured 30 days of chemo and radiation trying to hold off the disease long enough to get onto a clinical trial. The neuroblastoma turned out to be a formidable opponent and on October 15th, 2012 , 7 months to the day of his diagnosis, our son's cancer riddled body succumbed to the disease. He was home and in my arms when he passed. Garhett was 2 years and 9 months old when he was diagnosed and 3 years and 4 months old when he passed. He was a beautiful, stubborn blue eyed blonde haired little man who loved Batman. When he would go into the hospital for treatment he would put on his mask and cape and march around like the super hero he was.
