I'm Riding For
Herb and Delores

I ride in memory of my in-laws, Herb and Delores, who both had battles with cancer during their lifetimes. As in years past, I also ride in honor of all the brave warriors, young and old, who are currently kicking cancer’s butt and showing me what strength in the face of challenge looks like, day by day.
My Story
This September, for the eleventh year, I am taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer!
Why? Because right now, cancer is the biggest killer of children from disease in the United States. Over 15,700 children are diagnosed every year, and sadly, 38 children die of cancer every week.
Kids should be living life, not fighting for it.
So together, Gene and I are raising funds through this challenge to help these kids and support Children's Cancer Research Fund to allow them to continue their work to develop lifesaving treatments and find a cure for childhood cancer. Our team is Old Folks on Bikes. If you like to ride, we can always use more team members and/or company for a stretch!
This year, we're planning to do the ride around Lake Michigan that we postponed last year. As with our other tours, we like to take our time and enjoy the ride. We'll take longer than a month for the entire route, but plan to get at least 600 miles of it (maybe more) during September. Stay tuned for updates!
Please support us by joining the GCC and/or making a donation of any amount to give these kids the brighter futures they deserve!
Your support will change young lives.
Thank you.
