Briella Wasmer

2 years ago, Briella was diagnosed with B-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. She and her family have gone through an awful lot since then BUT...Briella has been a real trooper through all of this and is responding well to her treatments which are scheduled to end on February 14, 2025, so the end is in sight! Briella will be both my INSPIRATION and MOTIVATION as I ride 500 miles in September!

My Story

Last year (APRIL 10, 2023) I had my knee replaced so I had a later start than usual with my bicycling but, I was able to log 250 miles in August, 462 in September and over 300 miles in October.

This year I am getting a much earlier start in preparing my 71-year-old body to see if I can break 500 miles in 1 month to raise money for a great cause! In September I am once again taking part in the "Great Cycle Challenge" to fight kids' cancer!

Why? Because right now, cancer is the biggest killer of children from disease in the United States. Over 15,700 children are diagnosed every year, and sadly, 38 children die of cancer every week.

Kids should be living life, not fighting for it.

So, I am raising funds through my challenge to help these kids and support Children's Cancer Research Fund to allow them to continue their work to develop lifesaving treatments and find a cure for childhood cancer.
