I am a cancer survivor! (Diagnosed 2021)

I am blessed by the cancer research performed over 20 years ago. Although I will always carry the cancerous cells, a treatment was developed through this research to allow my oncologist to declare “you won’t die from this!”

Recently, I was approached by a women in Lowe’s saying “l like your shirt”. I happened to be wearing one of my “Ride for Children’s Cancer Research” shirts that day. She explained that her 12 year old son was recently diagnosed with Leukemia and was currently undergoing chemotherapy. She was trying to hide the fear and strain on her face. I regret not asking her for her son’s name.

This experience made me even more committed to this cause. Please consider donating so we can reduce the number of mothers and fathers having to deal with the strain and fear this mother is going through.
