My Story

This September 2026 will be my 10th year riding for these wonderful kids. I went retro with my photo to 2017, when I started this adventure for these kids. I once again will be doing my best to accomplish the goals I've set for myself in the "Great Cycle Challenge To Fight Kids' Cancer". My goal this year, is to pedal 200 miles in September. I've shortened my milage goals, because of having a total knee replacement. I haven't totally recovered, so I'm trying to be realistic but will still shoot for more miles if possible. I hope you will join with me again to raise my $$$ goal. I'll do all the sweating and the rest on my bike. I know many of you will join with me on this journey to help these kids. Thank you all

Why am I doing this? Because cancer is the biggest killer of children from disease in the United States - 38 kids die every week.

“This September will be my 10th year, and possibly my last challenge riding in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight Children's Cancer. It's been a humbling but great honor cycling for these precious kids. I always start my fundraising in August so I can keep all my attention to accomplishing all my goals. My knee problems have hindered me over the last few years. It looks like I'll have to have it replaced for a 2nd time and not looking forward to going through this again. But then I think if what these childern have gone or going through and seeing those big smiles on their little faces, I figure I can go through what I need to do. Anyway, your overwhelming generosity has been so unbelievable in past years that I'm always humbled by it. So if you're able to donate 5 or 10 dollars or whatever you can, your contribution always greatly appreciated. Thank you all”

I Am Riding For

This year besides the kids, I will be also riding for our dear friend .......... I'm allowed to ride for 1 other child or adult diagnosed with this horrible disease. I've done this for 10 years now with friends and total strangers whom I've become friends with over the years. I use the time on my bike to pray for them all, it's sometimes very difficult because of the Florida heat and the crazy traffic we have here. I'm not getting any younger, but this is my passion. I want to thank all my contributors and those who just pray for them as well as my safety on our SoFlo roads. THANK YOU all for your great support and generosity.
