I lost my 16-year-old daughter to cancer after a long, 2-year battle. She was diagnosed at age14, with Stage 4 Alveolar Rhabdomyosarcoma. This is a rare cancer, most common in adolescents. She was treated at University of North Carolina Children's Hospital in Chapel Hill. We made innumerable trips from our home in Hampstead, NC to Chapel Hill for her treatments. The distance was exactly 156 miles, door-to-door, one way. Which is why I have made it my goal to ride 156 miles this month, to help raise money for this amazing cause.
