Harper

I'm riding in memory of Harper. She was a granddaughter of my good friend Dr. Joseph Kappes in Missouri. She passed away on 29 June 2022. She loved art, rocks/gems/geodes, and Sea turtles. She said she wanted to be an artist, a geologist, or a marine biologist.

My Story

I've signed up for the 2024 Great Cycle Challenge and will be riding this September to fight kids' cancer! This is my fifth year in this program. There are many great causes to support. But this is the one that I dedicate to every year.

My goal this year is to pedal 150 miles throughout the month of September 2023. Though I'll be riding and raising money until the end of September, only the miles I ride in September will count toward my goal. Meanwhile, I'll be collecting donations for this cause and raising awareness.

Why am I doing this? Because cancer is the largest killer of children from disease in the United States – 38 children die of cancer every week.

My challenge will be tough, but it's nothing compared to what these brave kids and their families face every day of their lives as they battle this terrible disease.

Kids should be living life, NOT fighting for it.

And so I am taking on this challenge to end childhood cancer and save little lives.
