Just a quick update
15 Sep 2023Kick Cancer's Butt day was a hugh success! We are knocking on the door of 6 Million dollars raised for the 2023 Campaign and still half the month of September to go. Personally you all honored me with many donations yesterday. The match of $755.55 was just added to my 2023 Fundraising totals putting us at $2418.55 - just $81 dollars shy of my second Fundrasing goal of $2,500.
While the Kick Cancer's Butt Day event is over - there is still time to get your donations in for the 2023 Great Cycle Challenge event. Remember - this is all for the kids and their families and for needed research to treat and cure this dread disease.
Thank you so much for your support and to caring about these kids and their brave fight.

Welcome to GCC 2023
10 Jun 2023Good morning GCC Family:
It is that time of year again! The sun is shining, temperatures are rising, and the bikers are hitting the streets and trails preparing for September. Yep – my campaign for the Great Cycle Challenge starts today (well behind schedule). The girls (yes, my bikes) have been getting ready (Talia will be the last to head to the doctor soon for a check-up) and I have a few new gadgets this year to hopefully keep me safe and sound.
Memorial Day 2023 saw me participating in my third Doylestown Parade to honor those that have fallen and promote my beloved cause. This is my 8th year with the Great Cycle Challenge and as I stated, I am getting off to a very late start. Generally, by now you all have been bombarded with emails and postings, but I did not want it to go much longer before kicking off GCC 2023.
For those of you new to my annual campaign – the Great Cycle Challenge is a Cycling event to raise awareness and needed funds for the Children’s Cancer Research Fund (CCRF). The CCRF is a global organization funding projects promoting research toward better treatments and a cure for Childhood Cancers. Childhood cancers affect thousands of children but only about 4% of available monies are put towards needed research. We aim to help those numbers increase.
Some notes from the American Cancer Society showing some of why we ride:
Each year, the parents of approximately 15,700 kids will hear the words “your child has cancer.”
This disease is the number one cause of death by disease in children and occurs cross all ages and ethnic groups. Despite this, childhood cancer research is vastly and consistently underfunded.
Despite major advances – from an overall survival rate of 10 percent just fifty years ago to nearly 90 percent today, for many rare cancers, the survival rate is much lower. Childhood cancer is not just one disease but made up of 12 major types with over 100 subtypes, so although some types of cancer have a 97% survival rate (Hodgkin Lymphoma) others have a survival rate of less than 1% (DIPG). The number of diagnosed cases annually has continued to increase over the past 20 years. Sources: American Cancer Society
By riding our bicycles (from unicycles to tandem and everything in between) over 29.5 million miles and with your assistance, we have raised over 63 million dollars towards Childhood Cancer research. But of course – the quest isn’t over until there is a cure. So, we are back in the saddle once again for this amazing cause.
Please visit my Great Cycle Challenge Page to learn more about this event. From my page, you can:
• Learn more about the Great Cycle Challenge and the Children’s Cancer Research Fund
• See the 2023 Spokes-Kids for this year’s month-long riding event
• See the sponsors of the 2023 GCC
• Join the Great Cycle Challenge as a member of my Team – Team 213 – or start a campaign\team of your own!
o Sign up by September 14th and you will be entered to win a Trek Domane AL 4 Disc valued at $1,799 (I keep trying but have yet to be honored with the new ride)
• And of course – click on the DONATE NOW button and be part of the hundreds of thousands of people that have joined us to defeat this dread disease. Know that the staff and participants will all be eternally grateful you joined us in this terrific cause.
In an attempt to keep my typically long-winded message shorter (never happens – does it), I will close now. Thank you for taking the time to read this and consider joining the Great Cycle Challenge in whatever capacity you can. It is so worth the effort and the kids and families impacted by Childhood Cancers appreciate the support more than you will ever know.
With warm regards,
Jeff Kahn
