I'm Riding For

Robert "Bob" Snyder

Robert "Bob" Snyder

Bob is a caring husband, father of three, and avid cyclist. He participated in many fundraising cycling events for others. Little did he know that that on August 4th, 2023 that he would be diagnosed with terminal brain cancer (three tumors which are all Glioblastoma Multiforme). While his short term memory was immediately affected, I, Jeremy, began the role as the primary caretaker. We've spent many hours talking late into the night, eating all our meals together, walks through the neighborhood and on the beach, watching murder mystery tv shows, and just comforting each other. It's been an incredible past month, but the aggressiveness of the cancer could not be stopped and my dad has entered the hospice stage, just a little over a week ago from the time of writing this. The healthcare professionals did a great job of spinning me up on the end of life care, getting any supplies I've requested, and tons of moral support to keep me going. Beyond that, the community of family, friends, and neighbors has been incredible. Without them, this would have been impossible. The gratefulness my dad and I have for this assistance can never be repaid. Today (Sept 8th) my dad is home and still fighting for his life with the strongest heart and lungs I've ever seen. Unfortunately, we both know the end is nearing. Bob is now unconscious, and awaiting his call to make his final journey home. He is loved beyond belief and still inspires me to ride each day in his place with his cycling club, Vero Cycling Club, where he is a ride leader. Dad, I love you beyond any earthly words that can be spoken. This next part is going to be the hardest for me, but I'm ready for you have peace without pain & suffering. Thank you for raising me to love others, and most of all for always being my best friend. May these donations in your name, bless and help young lives so they may have a fighting chance at a long and fruitful life. Till we meet again...

My Story

28 Jun 2024

This September, I am once again taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer!

Why? Because right now, cancer is the biggest killer of children from disease in the United States. Over 15,700 children are diagnosed every year, and sadly, 38 children die of cancer every week.

Kids should be living life, not fighting for it.

So I am raising funds through my challenge to help these kids and support Children's Cancer Research Fund to allow them to continue their work to develop lifesaving treatments and find a cure for childhood cancer.

Please support me by making a donation to give these kids the brighter futures they deserve.

Your support will change little lives.

Thank you.
