Jillian is *the* cutest little girl and one of our neighbors. We knew she had dealt with cancer a couple years ago before her family moved to our area. Unfortunately - after 2.5 years of being cancer-free, Jillian’s cancer has relapsed. 😣 She has been doing so great. There were no indications that the cancer had returned other than lab values and a CT scan showing a tumor in her tailbone area. Needless to say, we were completely caught off guard. Now, we prepare our hearts and minds for more surgeries, chemotherapy and stem cell transplants. This treatment protocol will be the most intense we’ve seen to date. It’s scary and heartbreaking but we would do anything to get our girl healthy. When told about the relapse, her response was, “No way! I already did cancer. I don’t want to do it again. Not fair!” 😥 Nope, it’s not fair. Update: Jillian had surgery in August to place a central line and remove the tumor. Chemo started shortly after. Update: We have checked into Riley and the chemo is pumping. High dose chemo, here we come! Our girl is as ready as she can be. This morning as we were driving to the hospital she said, “Mom, look at the clouds! I think I see heaven up there. Hi, heaven!!” She continued, “I know God lives up there.” I told her that He is with us too. She responded, “I know. His hope follows us wherever we go.” His hope? We are not alone. We are loved. We have purpose. So, we keep going. Prayer Requests- Prayers chemo does not further damage Jillian’s inner ear. She already has hearing loss from chemo in 2020 and some dizziness that the ENT suspects is vestibular migraines caused by chemo damage. We do NOT want these things (especially the dizziness) to intensify.
