Kim was diagnosed with stage 2 endometrial cancer in July of 2024 after going into the ER for abdominal pain. Within a few weeks she had a confirmation biopsy and was quickly admitted for surgery. Once healed, she completed several rounds of radiation. Even with several complications along the way that led to multiple hospital admissions, she has found strength and balance by taking each new piece of information as it comes and working the problem. She is in the frequent follow-up stage of her treatment and everyday a little closer to the 5yr remission goal. While any cancer journey can include loss, she is so grateful for all of the love and support from everyone around her - without that this journey would have been insurmountable. If there was one thing she would tell people, especially women and those with chronic illnesses: if something isn't right, you know. Don't be dismissed. Talk to someone else about your concern. Without that 1 amazing ER doctor who took the time to listen and dig, her cancer would have continued to be missed. What was another day at work for him means the world to Kim.
