My Story
This September, I am once again taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight childhood cancer.
Cancer has touched my life in more ways than I ever wanted it to. I lost both of my parents to cancer, and I have faced and battled cancer myself. That is why this cause is so near and dear to my heart.
No child should have to know the fear, pain, treatments, and uncertainty that come with a cancer diagnosis. Children should be outside playing, laughing, learning, making memories, and dreaming about their futures—not fighting for their lives.
Cancer is the leading cause of death from disease among children in the United States. More than 15,700 children are diagnosed every year, and tragically, 38 children lose their lives to cancer every week. Those aren’t simply numbers—they are precious children and families whose lives are forever changed.
That is why I am riding and raising funds for the Children’s Cancer Research Fund. The money raised will help support research into safer, more effective treatments and, ultimately, cures for childhood cancer.
