I'm Riding For
Donna Van Houten Nauss
Donna was a lifelong friend, though there were many years we lost touch, I've known Donna since the late 1970s, and in early 2009 I received a friend request on Facebook from Donna. Technology brought us back together, she came out to visit me in Arizona that summer, and through the years since when I'd go back to visit family in New York, we'd spend some time together catching up with each other's lives. I took this picture of Donna when she was out visiting me in Arizona in July 2009. Donna lost her battle with cancer in September 2016, it's been over 7 years since she's been gone. This September I'll be riding riding in her memory. After we reconnected, she was there for me and my family when me dad pased away in 2013, mom in 2015 and my older brother in 2016, even though in the last year of her life she was dealing with cancer, she came to my older brothers funeral, she also was there for my parents. I miss you Donna, thanks for being there for me and my family.
My Story
This September, I am taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer!
Why? Because right now, cancer is the biggest killer of children from disease in the United States. Over 15,700 children are diagnosed every year, and sadly, 38 children die of cancer every week.
Kids should be living life, not fighting for it.
So I am raising funds through my challenge to help these kids and support Children's Cancer Research Fund to allow them to continue their work to develop lifesaving treatments and find a cure for childhood cancer.
Please support me by making a donation to give these kids the brighter futures they deserve.
Your support will change little lives.
Thank you.
