I'm Riding For
Finley Tyson Carter
On January 21,2021 Finley Tyson Carter gained his angel wings. This is my 7th year to ride in his memory. No child should spend more days in the hospital then they do at home. It isn't an easy thing for them or the family. Last year I rode in his memory while fighting pancreatic cancer. I wasn't able to ride my bike, but rode a Stationary bike and got my 100 miles in. This year I will try to ride again, while getting stronger to keep healthy and hopefully keep the cancer from coming back. . I know Finley is with me every step of the way. These children are my hero. They endure so much and some never make it. So help me raise money for these children. If Finley were here, he would be riding a bike with me. I ride so more children can have that chance. Finley rides on my shoulder with me every year whispering in my ear. You can do this, don't give up. He is my encouragement as I ride when I get tired. Please consider donating and plus keeping me in your prayers to do this challenge.
My Story
September 20,2024 I was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. I rode not even 50 miles because of it. I was hoping to ride 100 miles last year, but was only able to do 50 miles again, because I was so weak from treatment. This year I am going to try for 100 miles again. I trust God will get me through to do it. I know God has plans for me. I ride in memory of Finley Tyson Strong . No child should have to go through this . Last year I experienced some of what these children go through. It wan't an easy year. I have been out of treatment a year on July 3rd of this year. I pray God will give me strength to get stronger so that I can ride. We lose so many children to this disease. I am still riding for the kids, not me. Please consider sponsoring me this year by donating to this cause. I am now out of treatment but I still have many bad days. My heart hurts for these children. I can somewhat imagine what the children go through. I am 71 years old and have lived a good life. It is dear to my heart to ride and raise money for these children that aren't given a chance at life. Any amount is greatly appreciated. If you can help me raise money for this ride, it will be greatly appreciated. It isn't for me, it is for the children.

September 2
2 Sep 2026Didn't get out yesterday because of the heat. It was 94 feels like 100. Just sitting on the front porch for 30 minutes and I was overheating. So today I went out before 8am and by 9 it was already warming up that I was feeling it. I got 5 miles in and came home. My legs felt good and my strength was good. I felt like I could ride 10 miles but the best took me over.
