Just over a year ago I decided to take up cycling again after years of not riding.

I'd never really been a fitness fanatic so my first ride back was a tough one. I had a hard time riding just a few miles at first but after a lot of tough training I started doing long-distance charity rides including 100-mile centuries.

This June, I'm aiming to ride 500 miles in one month to support children's cancer research. To do that I'll be riding regularly as I have been but I'll also be tackling a new test: my first brevet – a sanctioned long-distance ride that's at least 200 kilometers or 125 miles long. It'll be a challenge to ride that far but it'll still be nothing compared to the challenge a child must face when diagnosed with cancer.

For each of those 500 miles I hope to raise a dollar. Please give whatever amount you can, no matter how small. By doing so you'll not only be supporting me but countless kids who can hopefully enjoy a healthier life in the future.
