I'm Riding For
Sarah Pj
Sarah Pj Was a very special person this year i am riding in memory of her she was a very sweet person who was always willing to help anyone she met for me she was a fellow co worker for close to 10years she was my new hire coach when i first started at the home depot almost 13 years ago she took me under her wing when others were to busy to teach me the ropes of the job after nearly a year fighting cancer she lost her battle an took her journey home to be with our sweet lord miss her dearly sarah this ride this year is for you your friend and see you again one day shawn.s
My Story
This September, I am taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer!
Why? Because right now, cancer is the biggest killer of children from disease in the United States. Over 15,700 children are diagnosed every year, and sadly, 38 children die of cancer every week.
Kids should be living life, not fighting for it.
So I am raising funds through my challenge to help these kids and support Children's Cancer Research Fund to allow them to continue their work to develop lifesaving treatments and find a cure for childhood cancer.
Please support me by making a donation to give these kids the brighter futures they deserve.
Your support will change little lives.
Thank you.

25 miles an a wellness check by chesterfield County police
18 Sep 2024You may or may not like Chesterfield County police or sherriffs but I am extremely greatful for these guys an the job they do daily this morning while on my morning 25 mile bike ride I was pulled over by a nice officer just to make sure I was doing OK as he had never seen anyone out riding at that early in the morning 3am to be exact with my ptsd it was hard to keep my nerves under composure an I calmly explained that I was riding for kids cancer an the edge of chesterfield County was part of my bike route oddly enough where he stopped me just happened to be across the street from the last house my aunt Eileen lived in before she passed from cancer into eternity with God
I was able to speak to the officer about kids cancer an show him the kids cancer jersey I was wearing under my reflective vest he was amazed at the coincidence of the house being right there an my compassion for the children an he even told me that if I ever needed anything from them or if I ever see anything while I was out riding to please feel free to reach out
Thanks chesterfield County police
Greatly appreciated an I appreciate you officers
For all you do each an everyday!!!

Progress update 8-24
25 Aug 2024As some of you know nearly 2 weeks ago I was out riding an mapping for the bike challenge an it had just rained the night before
I hit a slick spot the bike slid an flipped upon getting up I realized 2 things the bike was severely damaged an that I too had been injured I tried to play it off for 24hrs but the pain insisted come to find out when the bike flipped the handle bar spun an went up under my ribs so with scans I found out I had severely bruised my ribs an my back
Back to the bike when I got up off the ground the bike was folded in half the latch that locks the frame was swisted an open the front fender was swisted an the headlight had come unhooked an was now sideways
I was no where near home an it was 330am so no one was awake
I got myself up temporarily fixed the bike through the pain leaned on the bike an used twist throttle on the bike to get home
Another thought that runs through my head just seconds earlier I had come down a hill doing nearly 18 mph had I not slowed down I honestly don't know what shape I'd be in or if I would even be here
I'm still dealing with some residual pain in the ribs an back but just something that takes time to heal
With 8 days left till the start of this year's bike challenge for kids cancer the parts are in the bike is rebuilt an custom designed by yours truly(me)
I'm so excited to share it an how it turned out
Wich will be later tommorow

Just a thought
1 Jul 2024Just a thought an a prayer one of my pastors has been a huge mentor to me in this whole great cycle challenge children's cancer research ride that I've been doing for the last 3 years I started doing it in honor of my aunt Eileen who fought cancer for 9years an 2 remissions before going home to be with the lord
This man this pastor at my church The one behind the scenes an you know who you are
We had a discussion today before church an our vip volunteer meeting about bikes an weights of bikes an such an it took most of the day to click what he was saying it dawned on me I could ride so Manu more miles for these children an in honor of my late aunt if I had a lighter bike my bike I use is an electric bike that I turn the motor off to do this challenge that bike weighs over 60lbs with the battery probably closer to 70lbs
Now I'm curious just how Many miles I could ride with a bike that is a fraction of the weight I've ridden bikes since I first learned at 7 years old an has been a joy an a fascination with places I could ride to an see
I've ridden road bikes as a teenager an now I train with an ride an electric bike for work purpose
So my prayer is this that if someone would happen to have a lightweight hybrid bike or Roadbike they weren't using I could either have or buy for a really decent price I would be forever grateful an blessed this idea again wasn't my own but I believe wholeheartedly spoken through my pastor to me from the man upstairs cause I admit peddling a 60lb bike isn't the easiest over the coming days an weeks I'll be praying
For God's contained hand here in this situation
Thanks again pastor Ronnie West for always being my fan an my voice in the shadow an for your wealth of knowledge an experience you sir are a true blessing
