I'm Riding For
Mikey Benigni
Mikey was a friend of mine who I met the last time I moved to Nevada in 1990 (5th grade). He had already been battling cancer when I first met him. He was kind to everyone and always seemed to be happy even when he was at his sickest. Sadly, he lost his battle with cancer in February of 1993 at the age of 12. He actually lived longer than the doctors expected but he went through multiple rounds of painful chemo treatments. My hope is that one day, medicine will be advanced enough so that children who are diagnosed with cancer, can get treatments and cured without the amount of chemo, radiation, and pain that Mikey and others like him have gone through. That kind of advancement requires funding, which is why I am riding my bike to raise money for Children's Cancer Research. Please sponsor my ride and donate what you are able. Thank you.
My Story
This September, I am taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer!
Why? Because right now, cancer is the biggest killer of children from disease in the United States. Over 15,700 children are diagnosed every year, and sadly, 38 children die of cancer every week.
Kids should be living life, not fighting for it.
So I am raising funds through my challenge to help these kids and support Children's Cancer Research Fund to allow them to continue their work to develop lifesaving treatments and find a cure for childhood cancer.
Please support me by making a donation to give these kids the brighter futures they deserve.
Your support will change little lives.
Thank you.
