My Story
This September, for the first time I am taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer! I am thankful to have a year and a month behind me from when I had surgery on my broken leg requiring surgery with a plate and screws. I am so thankful for the medical people and research that has allowed me to have a second chance. I am thankful to get the privilege to ride this year. My amazing big sister inspired me to do it.
Why? Because right now, cancer is the biggest killer of children from disease in the United States. Over 15,700 children are diagnosed every year, and sadly, 38 children die of cancer every week.
Kids should be living life, not fighting for it.
So I am raising funds through my challenge to help these kids and support Children's Cancer Research Fund to allow them to continue their work to develop lifesaving treatments and find a cure for childhood cancer.
My sweet precious Mother had cancer two times and thankfully fully recovered with the help of cancer research. medical treatments, great medical workers and by God's grace. The medical people teamwork with research can and do really makes a difference. Also I have had two precious piano and violin students who had cancer who didn't do so well. Mathew and Karen have suffered a lot from it. My mother suffered much from it too. It hurts to see people you love suffer from it. I would love for help to be there for those suffering to be made well and for their loving families to be encouraged by their better health.
Please support these poor children by giving them hope and making a donation to give these kids the brighter futures they deserve. Your support will change little lives.
Since 1981, this organization has contributed over $233 million to research, support programs for children and families, and awareness and education outreach. In our January 1 to December 31, 2022 fiscal year, 81 percent of funds raised went directly to these program services areas.
Thank you.

On one of my neighborhood rides
29 Sep 2024On one of my neighborhood rides, Albert stopped me to give me a cash donation. I am happy to see that we can add it in with this app. Anyway, They have seen me bike riding their dead end road many times this month. While I was visiting with his wife, he told me to wait there for a minute he wanted to run inside to get something for me. And he came out and oiled my chain and pedals for me! What a sweet Neighbor to want to keep me going to help kids with cancer!

Roy Ann Butler Trail near Congress Bridge
29 Sep 2024Lovely trail! I parked near the Congress bridge because you can smell it both directions about about a quarter mile so I could find my car easier. Bat guano is under the bridge because the nice bridge is made to attract them. That way the city has less bugs. Rode 12 miles.

Guadalupe River State park
29 Sep 2024Enjoyed biking the roads and some trails here. The rocks in the trails were kind of sharp and bumpy and I decided to just do the roads instead. I had fun hiking and tubing down the river. I also enjoyed the private tour around Honeycreek State natural area. It was fun playing in the Rapids at the park too.
