My Story
"I’m back…"
This September, I am taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer for the SEVENTH straight year! If you were part of my pit crew in 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024, and 2025, our donations have raised an outstanding $48,600 and inspired me to ride 1809 miles!
Every dollar we raised and each mile on these rides is special to me. Having coached sports for close to 20 years, I have had the misfortune of seeing some children affected by cancer.
For 2026, our goal is to pedal another 250 miles throughout the month of September.
Why am I doing this? Because right now, 15,000 American children are diagnosed with cancer every year, and 38 children die every week. Kids should be living life, NOT fighting for it. To show my support, I am taking on this 30-day challenge to support cancer research and give these kids the brighter futures they deserve.
It will be a bit tougher than 6 years ago, but it's nothing compared to what these brave kids face every day as they battle this disease and fight for their lives. I am truly honored and blessed to be able to do my part.
So today, I'm asking for your support. If you pledge a mere 8 cents a mile and hit my goal it will be the best $20 dollars you ever spent!
As always, I kept the 250-mile goal but every year you inspire me to improve on total miles. Last year you inspired me to peddle 431 miles based on your generous support.
All funds raised will support Children's Cancer Research Fund to continue their work to develop innovative treatments and find a cure for childhood cancer.
