Aubrey
I am honored to ride this year in memory of Aubrey. A beautiful young lady whose life was cut tragically short by this horrible disease. Please help me raise funds so that we never again have to mourn a child lost to cancer.
My Story
This month I am taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer!
Why? Because over 15,700 children are diagnosed with some form of cancer every year.
This will be my eighth year riding in the Great Cycle Challenge. And throughout the years I have teamed up with Joe, Avery, Lucas and Samuel. And the one thing all of these young people have in common is that they all kicked cancer's butt!
Unfortunately not all kids are so lucky. Cancer is the biggest killer of children from disease in the United States. and sadly, 38 children die of cancer every week.
This year I will be teaming up once again with Lucas and Samuel to celebrate their recovery, but this year I also have the solemn honor of riding in memory of one who lost her battle with this terrible disease.
Aubrey would have been a Sophomore at Portage High School in Northern Indiana this year. Aubrey was diagnosed with Adrenal Cortical Carcinoma on January 12th of this year. Only 600 people (of any age) will be diagnosed with this type of cancer each year. And although she fought courageously, Aubrey lost her battle 100 days later on April 22, 2023.
So I am riding 638 miles this year for Lucas. Samuel and in memory of Aubrey. I will be raising funds through my challenge to help kids just like Lucas, Samuel and Aubrey and to support the Children's Cancer Research Fund to allow them to continue their work to develop lifesaving treatments and find a cure for childhood cancer.

Final day
30 Sep 2023It's the last day of the Great Cycle Challenge and I have exceeded my riding goal as of this morning's ride. I am now at 650 miles ridden. I am still $950 short of where I would like to be on my donations. I know there are at least 95 people out there that want to support Children's Cancers Research. All we have to do is get them to this page. Please share this with as many people as possible and let's see where we end up at the end of the day!

Great Cycle Challenge winding down
29 Sep 2023Well we are two days away from the end of the 2023 Great Cycle Challenge. I have ridden 608 miles as of this evening and have 30 left to ride in the next 2 days. I will meet that goal. Unfortunately, I was a little overambitious with regard to my fundraising goal. We are now at 13, 517.04 and I had hoped to raise $30,000 There are some things that I probably should have done differently and I will know to do that next year. That being said, $13,000 is a good amount of money to raise. We were 14th nationally and 2nd in the State of Indiana. But here's the deal. Doesn't $15,000 sounds better than $13,517? Do you think it is possible to raise $1,483.00 in two days? I think we can do that, if we spread the word and encourage others to join the fight. What do you say? Are you up to the Challenge? I am going to keep riding until I not only reach my goal, but surpass it. Let's see if we can do the same in the donations category for all the kids that are still out there fighting. Tiime to keep kicking Cancer's butt!
