This September, I am taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer!

Why? Because our 20 year old son, Joseph, relapsed again with refractory Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia in October of last year. Originally diagnosed in May of 2016, he successfully completed 3.5 years of treatment, and was ready to start culinary school when we learned he relapsed. Joe had CAR-T immunotherapy and remained cancer free for one year. In October of 2022, we were completely caught off guard when we learned the heartbreaking news that the leukemia was back for a third time. This time, he had a stem cell transplant from his older brother, Andrew. Joe is now recovering and getting stronger, hoping to start school and work again.

We are committed to finding a cure. I'm riding for him and for the other friends we've met that are also fighting cancer.

Kids should be living life, not fighting for it.

So I am raising funds through my challenge to help these kids and support Children's Cancer Research Fund to allow them to continue their work to develop lifesaving treatments and find a cure for childhood cancer.
