I'm Riding For

My mom. Bill's mom. My sister. Carolyn. Savannah. A 3 year old boy with acute leukemia in 1981. And now my precious neighbor Freda. People ask me if sometimes I just don't feel like riding. Yup, sometimes I'd rather sit on the porch with Bill and the dogs and enjoy a tall cool drink. But people with cancer can't take a day off from it. They can't decide not to have it for a day. Moms can't look at their children and forget what is happening to them. Wives can't ignore the disease attacking their husbands. So it's not hard at all for me to get on my bike and ride. It's easy. And you all do the pedaling! Every dollar you give pushes me up the next hill. Your generosity has ENCOURAGED and impressed me no END. We started out with a goal of 200 miles and $500. HA! You all blew that UP! We care, government. Do you hear us? We want to take care of our children. We don't want another grandfather to have empty arms, another mother to cry herself to sleep. We care. We can do this.

My Story

  • 8 Dec 2017

This June, I am taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer!

Why? Because right now, cancer is the biggest killer of children from disease in the United States. Over 15,700 children are diagnosed every year, and sadly, 38 children die of cancer every week.

Kids should be living life, not fighting for it.

So I am raising funds through my challenge to help these kids and support Children’s Cancer Research Fund to allow them to continue their work to develop lifesaving treatments and find a cure for childhood cancer.

Please support me by making a donation to give these kids the brighter futures they deserve.

Your support will change little lives.

    Thank you.
