My Story

Like every year, this September, I am taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer! This will be my 6th year. Every year I work to increase the size of my donation, the size of my team, and the amount the miles I commit to. This is a wonderful cause that works to support research to help prevent childhood cancer. Right now, cancer is the biggest killer of children from diseases in the United States. Over 15,700 children are diagnosed every year, and sadly, 38 children die of cancer every week. Kids should be living life, not fighting for it. I have had my own journey with cancer as an adult and I cannot imagine the strain that is put on a family dealing with a small child with cancer. I made it through my journey and I want to help others make it through theirs.

This year I am riding 1300 miles in the month of September and my personal goal is to raise $5000 with a team goal of $7000.

Every year I set goals I am not sure I can meet. So far each year I have exceeded my donations miles and goal. My intent is each year to increase my commitment. I am sure at some point I want to make my goals, but for now, I am going to try to keep doing all I can to make them and exceed them.

I promise to push myself like crazy to work for every dollar you donate. I will post my progress often and you can go to my page at any point you see how I am doing.

I will take donations, encouragement, yee-haws, and cheers; the kids love to see all the miles we rack up!
