My Story
It’s 2023 – and again this September, I’m riding in “The Great Cycle Challenge,” to fight kids’ cancer.
This year, my September bike riding is a little shorter than in years past. (Yes, I know, September still has 30-days, but for me, this year seven days in September will be without a bicycle.) Having said this, I'm again setting a lofty goal: ride 500 miles in the month of September! And, also again this year, I'm not asking you to donate (but if you read the information below about childhood cancer you may choose to donate). What I'm really asking of you, is to hold me accountable to my bicycle riding goal.
Why? Because right now, cancer is the biggest killer of children from disease in the United States. Over 15,700 children are diagnosed every year, and sadly, 38 children die of cancer every week. (Oh, and because I just want to see if I can ride 500 miles in a month!)
So, if you want to feel good about yourself, please make a donation to give these kids the brighter futures they deserve. If you just want to see if I can get myself off the couch for 500 miles, keep checking back here.
But know, your support will change little lives.
Thank you.
