My parents: Louis and Lois Russell

My mother is a breast cancer survivor and matriarch of our family. There are not enough words to express my love and respect for her. I, too, have survived cervical cancer so I ride for the children who have been stricken by this disease but also for me and my mother. My Patriarch of our family, Louis Russell, has had various cancers throughout his life; on his head, face, back and arms. The scars left behind were reminders to both him and me to use sunscreen and limit time in the sun. Dad passed away on Monday, April 24, 2023. I miss both my mother and father dearly so this CycleChallenge years ride is especially meaningful. 💔

My Story

This September 2023 I am taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight childhood cancer!

Why? Because right now, cancer is the biggest killer of children from disease in the United States. Over 15,700 children are diagnosed every year, and sadly, 38 children die of cancer every week.

Kids should be living life, not fighting for it.

So I am raising funds through my challenge to help these kids and support Children's Cancer Research Fund to allow them to continue their work to develop lifesaving treatments and find a cure for childhood cancer.
