Dax Ovington

My son is very smart. Loves math and science. Loves swimming and relaxing watching gumball, bluey, playing video games. He is a normal boy going through something that NO Child should have to go through. He is the strongest person in my life, and there is no doubt thay he will overcome. Dax is a blessing to so many people, and being 9 he doesnt even know it yet... he will realize one day, and he will help others in this situation. Being shy, this will gain him some confidence to just be himself. We want nothing more than to help others, we donated his tumor to the NATIONAL TUMOR BANK, in order to help early diagnoses. He only complained of headaches, that was the only way we found out. Eye doctor found swollen optical nerves. Then 2 days later MRI was done, found the mass, got the mass taken out 3 days later. Thanking God that he carved this path for his parents to follow. I hope nobody has to go through this. But reality is 1 in 5 children diagnosed with Cancer will not survive. This bothers me to another level. The onky thing i wanted to do when i was a child was to be a father. My Dax-man made me one. Here is to support of research and progression of knowledge to not only kids cancer, but all cancer. God bless

My Story

26 Jun 2026

My son was diagnosed in July with a stage 3 Ependymomma, after brain surgery they did a biopsy and found that the stage is cancerous and fast growing. Luckily we have faith and support from GOD. Not only that but the UofM Ann Arbor/ CS Motts childrens hospital is the best at what they do. I know that not all children are as blessed as our family is. Even though we have a lot to go through. He just started radiation on 08.25.2025. I am riding for all children. BECAUSE CANCER IN KIDS IS NOT OKAY. PERIOD.

Though there is not much i am able to do. Raising awareness for these situations and kids is my #1 priority in life right now. Finding ways to help research and prevent this from happeneing at all. Or catch it early enough to where it is treated earlier.

This September, I am taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer!

Why? Because right now, cancer is the biggest killer of children from disease in the United States. Over 15,700 children are diagnosed every year, and sadly, 38 children die of cancer every week.

Kids should be living life, not fighting for it.

So I am raising funds through my challenge to help these kids and support Children's Cancer Research Fund to allow them to continue their work to develop lifesaving treatments and find a cure for childhood cancer.

Please support me by making a donation to give these kids the brighter futures they deserve.

Your support will change little lives.

Thank you.
