This September during Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, I'm riding in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer! As a pediatrician, I am honored to help families raise their children. I love seeing them year after year at their check-ups and seeing them realize their potential as adults, and of course, treating and curing diseases is rewarding too! However, the part of my job that puts a knot in my stomach is making the diagnosis of cancer. I can help get patients to the right treatment, ameliorate side effects, and support them through grief, but sometimes even that isn’t enough. This ride is a chance to do more!
