I'm Riding For
For my family never forgotten
Carlene Omega Janae Samuels was a vibrant spark of joy to all who knew her. Often seen in her Spiderman costume or a tutu she would walk the halls of the hospital and brighten everyone's day. Carly left us in January 2024 after her long battle with Retinoblastoma. She was greeted in heaven by her big sister, Kiona, who was also taken from us too soon due to cancer in 2006. No family should have to lose a child due to cancer, and its even more unthinkable to lose two. With this special family in my heart, I am riding to raise money to fight childhood cancer.
My Story
This September, I am taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer!
Why? Because right now, cancer is the biggest killer of children from disease in the United States. Over 15,700 children are diagnosed every year, and sadly, 38 children die of cancer every week.
Kids should be living life, not fighting for it.
So I am raising funds through my challenge to help these kids and support Children's Cancer Research Fund to allow them to continue their work to develop lifesaving treatments and find a cure for childhood cancer.
