I'm Riding For

Andy Trice

I had the privilege of meeting Andy Trice back in high school when we faced off on the football field—Andy representing Joliet Central and me, Lockport West (Romeoville). We both graduated in 1973 and continued our journey together at Eastern Illinois University, where we became teammates on the line. Fast-forward to today, and we find ourselves once again on opposite sides, with Andy coaching at Hononegah High School and me at Boylan Catholic. Andy has been fighting an incredible 14-month battle with cancer, showing strength and resilience every single day as he continues to heal. He is truly extraordinary, surrounded by a wonderful, supportive family. His story is one of inspiration, and I’m deeply honored to dedicate my 2024 ride to Andy—an amazing person who continues to inspire us all.

This September, I am taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer!

Why? Because right now, cancer is the biggest killer of children from disease in the United States. Over 15,700 children are diagnosed every year, and sadly, 38 children die of cancer every week.

Kids should be living life, not fighting for it.

So I am raising funds through my challenge to help these kids and support Children's Cancer Research Fund to allow them to continue their work to develop lifesaving treatments and find a cure for childhood cancer.
