Six years ago, I signed up for the Great Cycle Challenge thinking it was about endurance.

I was wrong.

What I found was purpose.

Every September, I ride for kids facing something far heavier than any hill or distance I’ll ever take on. Kids fighting childhood cancer. Kids showing strength most adults spend a lifetime trying to understand.

Somewhere along the way, this ride stopped being a challenge and became part of my story.

Life has a way of changing you. It strips away distractions. It humbles you. It teaches you what matters. And for me, that’s become simple: show up, do what you can, and leave something better than you found it.

That’s why I ride.

Not because I think I can change the world alone, but because I know small acts matter. A mile matters. A dollar matters. A shared post matters. It all adds up.

This ride is for the kids still fighting.

For the families holding on.

For the ones who made it through.

And for the ones who didn’t.

I ride because they deserve more time, more laughter, more birthdays, more life.

So here I am. Year five.

A little older.

A little wiser.

Still pedaling.
